Before you start

  • Use a verified Twilio account with billing and regional permissions.
  • Know whether the number is for inbound, outbound or both.
  • Create and test the Voice Agent before assignment.

Step by step

1

Open phone-number management

Review active numbers and available purchase or connection options in the Voice AI area.

2

Connect Twilio securely

Enter required credentials only in the designated secure integration fields.

3

Choose or purchase a number

Confirm country, capabilities, regulatory requirements and recurring provider cost.

4

Assign the Voice Agent

Map the number to the intended agent and direction. Review Knowledge Base slots and concurrency limits.

5

Test inbound and outbound paths

Use separate test phones, verify caller experience, logs, transfer and notifications.

Verify the result

  • The number shows as active and assigned.
  • Inbound calls reach the intended agent.
  • Supported outbound calls present the expected caller identity.

Common issues

  • Number cannot be purchased: Check regional availability, verification and Twilio account permissions.
  • Call reaches wrong agent: Review number assignment and deployment configuration.
  • Concurrent calls fail: Check plan allocation, provider limits and account concurrency.
Important: Twilio is a third-party provider with separate pricing, verification, availability and acceptable-use rules.
